Wellington Shire Council Mayor Carolyn Crossley says it is great news to hear that the Murray Goulburn facilities in Maffra are not included in the list of closures announced by the company.

She says: She says: “It was a very welcome decision from Murray Goulburn. I recently met with the new Board and Executive in Maffra, and stressed how important the Maffra facility was to our region.

“We have always had a significant dairy industry in Wellington, which can only grow with the current upgrades of the Macalister Irrigation District. This news will be well received by both the employees and the farming community.”
