Wellington Shire Council currently offer three grant opportunities for Australia Day Events, Community Assistance and Quick Response. Details of these grants are available on the links below.
Community Assistance Grants aim to build on community capacity, encourage participation in cultural development and support community initiatives that promote participation and working together to maintain our community assets.
Community Assistance Grant applications are made available for not for profit community groups looking for funding of $2,001 - $6,000 in the categories listed below.
There are two rounds of funding each year opening in January and June.
Quick Response Grants are open all year round and support the delivery of outcomes that have positive impacts on the wider Wellington community. Eligible projects submitted under this program will be assessed within two weeks. Funding up to $2,000 ($2,500 from 1 July 2022) is available.
Community groups wishing to conduct a ceremony to celebrate Australia Day can apply for funding. The level of support provided will depend on the capacity of the event to deliver outcomes that are beneficial to the Wellington Community, and reflect the purpose of Australia Day.
