Disabled and able bodied to come together for huge tournament

Gippsland Regional Sports Complex is gearing up for a massive inaugural 3v3 Basketball Invitational on Sunday, 8 July.

The competition will involve two categories – 3v3 wheelchair basketball and 3v3 basketball, with prizes on offer.

The 3v3 wheelchair basketball competitions are open to boys/girls of all ages; men/women of all ages; people with a disability or able bodied; and, combined teams are also welcome.

Wellington Shire Council Mayor Carolyn Crossley said the competition was supported by GippSport and was a great opportunity to get on the court and have some fun.

“This competition is a great opportunity for everyone, whether able bodied or disabled, to have some fun and even learn some new skills,” she said.

“Wheel chairs will be supplied for the competition, so all you have to do is sign up and turn up. “You can sign up as a team or if you don’t have a team, we will find one for you.”
