Council to partner with community for new funding opportunities
Issued:
June 5, 2018

Wellington Shire Council is offering to partner with individuals or organisations wishing to apply for funding through the Pick My Project initiative.

Between $20,000 and $200,000 is available through the State Government grants, for projects that enhance the local community.

Wellington Shire Council Mayor Carolyn Crossley said Pick My Project was an exciting opportunity for locals to launch their project ideas.

“For those who have been unsuccessful at obtaining funding in the past, or for those who have a new idea for a project that will enhance their local community, this project is a great opportunity,” she said.

“As part of the process, the applicant must have a partner organisation to help facilitate the application.

“Wellington Shire Council is willing to be this partner.

“Once the applications have been accepted, the local community will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite project to receive funding.”

Applications close 24 June. Further information about the Pick My Project funding scheme can be found at pickmyproject.vic.gov.au or phone Wellington Shire Manager Community Wellbeing Karen McLennan on 5142 3114.
