Carmel Ripper wins Council role on countback
Issued:
November 17, 2017

Carmel Ripper was today announced the new Councillor for Northern Ward for Wellington Shire Council, after a Victorian Electoral Commission count-back.

The vacancy was created when former Councillor Keith Mills resigned, effective last week.

Wellington Shire Council Mayor Carolyn Crossley has welcomed Ms Ripper, who will undertake inductions and briefings next week, to bring her up to speed on current issues.

“We congratulate Carmel and welcome her to the Wellington Shire Council,” Cr Crossley said.

“We pride ourselves on working collaboratively as a team of councillors and look forward to Carmel joining us for the remaining three years of the council term.”

Ms Ripper will be sworn in at next week’s Wellington Shire Council meeting on Tuesday evening.
