Proposed renaming of a road under the provisions of the Geographic Place Names Act 1998

Following a request, Council’s Place Names Committee proposes that the unnamed road off Bengworden Road, Perry Bridge, be named Stone Road.

The proposed name recognises ANZAC soldiers Archibald Stephen Stone and Charles Edward Stone, both of whom were associated with the Meerlieu and Perry Bridge area and died whilst serving in the First World War.

Public comment on the proposed name is invited and may be made in writing to Place Names Committee, Wellington Shire Council, PO Box 506, Sale VIC 3850 or via email to PlaceNames@wellington.vic.gov.au.

Submissions will be accepted no later than 30 January 2018.
