Notice of Intention to Enter into a Lease

Wellington Shire Council (Council) gives notice under Section 115 of the Local Government Act 2020 that it intends to offer a lease for a term of 10 years for land only at the corner of Thomson and Boisdale Street, Maffra (refer to plan below).

Council intends to offer the lease of the land for a peppercorn community rental.

The land is to be leased to allow for a community group to take full responsibility of the Maffra Guide Hall with the Hall and land being used for the purpose of community theatre activities.

Any person may make a written submission to Council.

All submissions must be received on or before 5pm 11 November 2026. Submissions will then be considered in accordance with Council’s Community Engagement Policy by Council or a Committee of Council convened for that purpose.

If a person wishes to be heard in support of their submission they must so indicate in their written submission and this will entitle them to appear in person or by a person acting on their behalf before Council or a Committee to be held at a date and time to be advised at Council Chambers, 70 Foster Street, Sale. The meeting will proceed if one or more persons request to be heard.

Submissions made in accordance with Council’s Community Engagement Policy are not considered confidential and will be incorporated into the agenda and minutes of any Council or Committee meeting at which the matter is considered.
