Proposal to Name Unnamed Road (Bettles Lane)

Proposed naming of road under the provisions of the Geographic Place Names Act 1998

Wellington Shire Council is required to name the unnamed road off Heyfield-Dawson Road, Heyfield.

The proposed name is Bettles Lane, named after Roy Scott Bettles who worked as a blacksmith in Heyfield before enlisting for the Armed Forces on 25 August 1915.

He was killed in action in Pozieres, France on 28 July 1916.

Public comment on the proposed naming is invited and may be made in writing to: Place Names Committee, Wellington Shire Council, PO Box 506, Sale VIC 3850 or via email to PlaceNames@wellington.vic.gov.au.

Submissions will be accepted no later than 19 July 2018.
