Wellington Shire Council's vision is for happy people, healthy environment and thriving communities.
After Hours Emergency
1300 366 244The facility’s new 25 metre pool and dedicated Learn to Swim facilities mean better access and more tailored support for every age group, starting from babies through to school-aged kids. The redevelopment also includes a visible swim school office and new, tiered observation areas, helping families stay engaged and children feel supported during lessons.
In addition to swim school, children can also enjoy a new zero-depth indoor water play area, which will offer a safe, fun environment ideal for toddlers and young children to explore and build water confidence. A new family-friendly ‘Change Village’ will also make it easier for parents with multiple children or prams to change safely together after swim lessons.
Dedicated school changing rooms were also included in the design, allowing school and water education user groups the opportunity to have their own dedicated changing space, in line with Child Safe Standards.
Wellington Shire Mayor Scott Rossetti urged residents to consider enrolling their children in swim school, highlighting that learning to swim is not only a key life skill — it’s also one of the most effective ways to prevent drowning.
“Swimming lessons are about more than just laps and floaties, they help kids build water confidence, learn vital safety skills and build swimming competence,” Cr Rossetti said.
“Aqua Energy’s Learn to Swim program guides kids from their first splash right through to stroke correction and even pre-squad levels. It’s all about helping them feel safe and capable in the water; learning how to float, tread water and get themselves to safety. All in a fun and supportive environment that encourages kids to try new things, set goals and celebrate their swim wins.”
