Notice of Preparation of Amendment C97

Planning and Environemt Act 1987

The Wellington Shire Council has prepared Amendment C97 to the Wellington Planning Scheme.

The amendment affects land at 36-40 and 42-44 Foster Street, Sale; 4 & 6 Park Street, Sale and part Crown Allotment 3B Section 11 Parish of Sale.

The amendment proposes to rezone land to the Public Use Zone 1 (Service and Utility); Public Park and Recreation Zone and remove the existing Design and Development Overlay 2 (Business / Industry Display Area), to facilitate the provision of a new Sale Sewerage Pump Station. The amendment also corrects a number of mapping anomalies within the Wellington Planning Scheme.

You may inspect the Amendment, any documents that support the Amendment and the Explanatory Report about the Amendment, free of charge, at the following locations:

  • During office hours, at the offices of the planning authority, Wellington Shire Council, 18 Desailly Street, Sale and 156 Grant Street, Yarram.
  • At the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning website www.delwp.vic.gov.au/ public-inspection.

Any person who may be affected by the Amendment may make a submission to the planning authority about the Amendment. Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the Amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.

Name and contact details of submitters are required for council to consider submissions and to notify such persons of the opportunity to attend council meetingsand any public hearing held to consider submissions. The closing date for submissions is Monday 11 September 2017. Submissions must be sent to Strategic Planning, Wellington Shire Council, PO Box 506, Sale, VIC 3850.

The planning authority must make a copy of every submission available at its office for any person to inspect free of charge for two months after the amendment comes into operation or lapses.
