At its meeting on Tuesday 21 March, Wellington Shire Council resolved to adopt Planning Scheme Amendment C90. The private requests seek to rezone land that is identified within the Longford Development Plan as Precinct 3, which is east of the Longford golf course and Precinct 11, located to the north of Boundary Creek Road, Longford.

The rezoning has the potential to ultimately create in excess of twenty new lifestyle size lots within Longford.

During a six-week period of public exhibition a total of nine submissions were received from various statutory authorities and the community, none of which raised objections to the proposals.

Council will now submit a request to the Minister for Planning to approve Planning Scheme Amendment C90 to allow for the development of the land in accordance with the requirements of the Longford Development Plan.
