Parking on Bond St, Sale, to be restricted during upgrade

Council is undertaking the reconstruction of the full length of Bond Street, from Raymond Street to York Street.

Bond Street in Sale is set to get a new look and almost twice as many parking spaces, with upgrade works to commence Monday 19 April and with Wellington Shire Council advising drivers that parking will be restricted along the street during the construction period.

Council is undertaking the reconstruction of the full length of Bond Street, from Raymond Street to York Street which, when completed, will see on-street parking increase from 30 bays to 56. The north side of the street will see perpendicular parking spaces created, while south-side bays will remain parallel.

The new-look street will also include new footpaths, kerbs, road asphalting and planter beds.

Council is asking drivers to find alternative parking arrangements during the construction period, which is expected to be completed by June 2021.

Footpaths and kerbs at the intersection of Bond Street and York Street will also be upgraded to ensure the Bond Street works seamlessly connect with improvements to York Street, which are being funded by the federal government’s Princes Highway Improvements Package in conjunction with Council and Regional Roads Victoria.
