Frock up for an exclusive reading of The Dressmaker’s Secret
Issued:
October 28, 2020

Ditch your COVID-iso trackie pants and shake out your very best frock - after months of reading alone, it’s time for Victorians to dress up and read as one for the inaugural Victoria Reads event.

Book lovers across Wellington Shire and the state will come together on Zoom for an exclusive reading from Rosalie Ham’s The Dressmaker’s Secret, the long-awaited sequel to the best-selling novel and award-winning film, The Dressmaker, starring Kate Winslet, Judy Davis and Liam Hemsworth.

Let Rosalie bring 1950s Melbourne to life with help from a fabulous supporting cast, including Libbi Gorr, Jacinta Parsons and Brian Nankervis, who will voice the characters you love (and a few new favourites) in this state-wide event hosted by Public Libraries Victoria’s Dr Angela Savage.

Stick around after the reading to go “behind the seams” and share your thoughts on this new chapter in Myrtle ‘Tilly’ Dunnage’s life.

Register now to join the discussion via Zoom and don’t forget to dress to impress – wouldn’t Tilly expect it?

Thursday 12 November, 7.30pm. Register at bit.ly/victoriareads2020.

Brought to you by Victoria Reads and Wellington Libraries.
