After Hours Emergency
1300 366 244The upgrade has been carefully planned to keep disruption to a minimum. All other areas of the Port of Sale will remain open, including the Gippsland Art Gallery, the Library and the Visitor Information Centre. Programs and events will continue as scheduled.
The Dock Café will pause service from Sunday 17 May, with the final day of trade on Saturday 16 May. Following a closure of less than three weeks, the café will reopen on Friday evening 5 June, ahead of a busy period at the Gippsland Art Gallery.
The Dock Café is a popular meeting place within the Port of Sale precinct and is often enjoyed alongside a visit to the gallery or nearby services. This upgrade will improve comfort and functionality, helping the café continue to meet community expectations into the future.
Wellington Shire Council Mayor Cr Cindy Madeley said the timing of the works had been planned carefully.
“We know how important the Dock Café is to the community, so this is a short and focused closure of the café only,” Cr Madeley said. “Everything else at the Port of Sale remains open, and the café will be back very quickly with improvements people can enjoy.”
The reopening will align with a Friday night Winter Season Launch at the Gippsland Art Gallery, giving visitors an early chance to enjoy the refreshed space before regular trade resumes the following day.
