Members of local community groups, clubs, committees, event organisers and local businesses are invited to attend a series of free informative workshops hosted by Wellington Shire Council on Sunday 4 and Monday 5 June from 9.30am to 3.00pm at the Ibis Styles Conference Centre in Sale.

The workshops will tackle a range of challenges groups, committee and organisations may face including; good decision making and communication, events success, finding local voices, productive partnerships, grants and social media.

Wellington Shire Council General Manager Community & Culture Glenys Butler says: “Last year, Council trialled a new approach to delivering training sessions for community members and business groups by hosting the Building Better Organisations workshops. This approach was hugely successful and received great positive feedback. It was attended by 83 people over the two days from 23 towns across the Shire, and we have decided to run the event again this year.”

A series of workshops will be held over two days and people can choose which sessions they would like to attend. Participants can structure their days how they wish and attend the entire workshop on either day or attend different sessions each day.

In a bid to suit busy people, the same workshops will be run each day.

Local social media experts ‘Mac and Ernie’ from Warragul are presenting the session on ‘Fabulous on Facebook’. They know how to teach people how to make social media work for their business and in their local community.

Spaces are limited for all sessions and bookings are essential. To book your spot, visit http://bit.ly/BuildingBetterOrganisations2017 by 5.00pm on Friday 19 May 2016.
