Malcolm has always been a country boy, starting work with a Stock and Station company for 12 years.
He started his own business in Heyfield in clothing and retired after 32 years.
Malcolm is widower with five adult children and 18 grandchildren.
Prior to working in local government Malcolm was a Water and Sewerage Commissioner for almost 17 years and was Chair when four authorities were amalgamated. He is a Life member of Apex and a past district governor dedicating 17 years’ service to the community

In 2016, Malcolm was involved in the steering committees for MAV Act for the Future and the review of the Municipal Association Act 1907.
