Mayor applauds regional rail funding but the Shire needs more

Mayor Carolyn Crossley welcomed the Federal Government’s announcement on providing funding to revive Gippsland’s regional rail network, including $95 million to replace the Avon River Bridge at Stratford, but she says the Shire needs more investment to improve services to and from Sale.

Spinning a good yarn at Café 123 in Sale

Thanks to an Age-Friendly community grant from Council, a Knit and Natter Club is now running at Café 123 in Sale. The idea was developed by local resident Judy Tulip who attended one of Council’s Age-Friendly lunches towards the end of last year.

Works underway on Special Charge Scheme road upgrade

A major upgrade of Pearson Street and Simpson Street in Sale costing up to $1.1 million is well underway as part of the Residential Road and Street Construction program. Projects within this program are based on Special Charge Schemes.

until Sunday 27 August 2017. Assembled by the artist’s son David, The Kenneth Jack View presents a range of works from the artist’s own collection, many of which are previously unseen, together with key works from the Gallery’s collection.

until Sunday 27 August 2017. Bohemians in the Bush explores the stories and art of late nineteenth and early twentieth century Gippsland, revealing the work of many artists who are comparatively little known today.
