If you own a pool or spa in Wellington Shire Council, it must be registered with Wellington Shire Council prior to 1 June 2020.
Prior to 1 December 2019, Pool and Spa registration with your local Council in Victoria was not mandatory. If your pool or spa was constructed prior to 1 June 2020 it will not be registered, and you are now required to register the pool or spa.
The new laws, introduced by the Victorian Government on 1 December 2019, apply to pools and spas that are capable of holding more than 300mm (30cm) of water. These include:
Once a pool or spa is registered, it will remain registered until it is removed from the register. No further registration fees are applicable.

Pool owners will be required to submit a Certificate of Compliance to Council every four years. Council will contact you to advise when your Certificate is due to be submitted.
Certificates of Compliance are available from a registered Building Surveyor.
