Do you have an idea for a community-led project?

Whether you just want to talk to someone about your community project idea, seek advice on a grant, attend a workshop to improve your skills in delivering community projects, or you need specific help with your community - led project, the Community Collaborations Program can help you!

The Community Collaboration Program is made up of 4 elements:

Council recognises that like our Wellington community, there is rich diversity amongst community project ideas and experience levels. Community Collaboration Program has been designed to strengthen the work of our community and support our shared vision of happy people, healthy environments and thriving communities.

Community members and groups can access any element of Community Collaborations Program.

Community Workshop Calendar

Check out the range of community workshops currently on offer (updated quarterly) to help you grow and/or strengthen your project.

Bookings for each workshop are essential as places are limited – you can secure your spot by clicking on the link provided below to go straight to our Eventbrite system or you can contact the Social Planning and Engagement Officer by calling our Customer Service centre on 1300 366 244.

How much funding is available?

The Community Collaborations Program provides links  and referrals to Council's Grants Officer who can discuss ways that a grant might support planning and delivery of your project, and the types of Council Grants, and/or any other known grants that may be available.  You can also explore other grant opportunities online through our Grants Finder.

What is a community – led project?

For the purpose of the Community Collaborations Program, community - led projects are defined as a project that is fully owned, managed, and delivered by a community project group throughout the project’s lifespan.

How will Council use any information I provide through accessing Community Collaborations?
