The Cameron Sporting Complex Stadium Redevelopment Project is being developed by Wellington Shire Council, Latrobe Valley Authority, Maffra Basketball Association and Maffra Gymnastic Club in partnership with the Victorian Government.
This project involves an extensive upgrade with the aim of becoming a regionally significant facility for gymnastics, enhancing the experience for existing and additional user groups and increasing participation in sport and recreation within the Maffra and surrounding districts.
The project will see the facility being able to be accessed by additional user groups, including Volleyball and Netball participants.
Completion of Stage 2 is expected by April 2021
Timber flooring, supplied by Parkside Timber in Bairnsdale, andcoating and line marking are complete on the indoor multipurpose courts. Newbackboards and sports equipment have also been installed.
Brooker Builders is undertaking Stage 2 works, with the 12m-highroof section in the trampolining area complete. Works continue on the refurbishment of amenitiesand the foyer/reception area, the basketball show court, car parking,accessible change facilities and a major expansion of the gymnastics area.
