| The unemployment rate for Wellington Shire is at an all time low at 4.0 per cent, 1.0 per cent below the Gippsland unemployment rate and 0.7 percent below the Victorian unemployment rate.
In 2005 Wellington’s unemployment rate was at an all time high of 7.0 per cent but has steadily declined. This is despite the 1.0 per cent increase in unemployment in Gippsland and the 0.5 per cent increase in the Victorian unemployment rate.
