| Australia Day events are held by community groups across Wellington Shire Council every year. Citizenship ceremonies, barbeques and music play a big part in celebrating Australia Day in townships throughout the shire.
Local Government Award nominations open every year in October with the winners announced on Australia Day. Nomination forms are available from libraries and Council customer service centres from October through to late November/ early December.
