Council has partnered with Wellington Primary Care Partnership, Central Gippsland Health Service, Yarram & District Health Service and GippSport to promote the Premier’s Active April. The Premier’s Active April encourages people from all walks of life to devote just 30 minutes a day to exercise.

Have you found a lost pet?

Council is reminding community members of the most appropriate way to report a lost pet. Social media ‘Lost and Found’ sites, such as Facebook, are being increasingly used to reunite lost pets with their owners but this may not be the best course of action to take.

Update on Heyfield Mill activities

Closure of public amenities at the Wildfish Restaurant, Port Albert

Councillors have considered a petition from Port Albert residents in relation to the closure of the public amenities at the Wildfish Restaurant, Stockyard Point in Port Albert. The petition raised concerns about the distance to the nearest toilet now that the Wildfish toilets are closed.

Wellington Shire celebrates National Youth Week 2017

Having considered the written objection and report from the Submissions Committee in relation to the Dundas Street South Special Charge Scheme between Cunninghame and Macarthur Streets in Sale, Council determined at its meeting on Tuesday 21 March, to adopt the scheme.

Rezoning within the Longford Development Plan area - Planning Scheme Amendment C90 - Approved

At its meeting on Tuesday 21 March, Council resolved to adopt Planning Scheme Amendment C90. The private requests seek to rezone land that is identified within the Longford Development Plan. The rezoning has the potential to ultimately create more than twenty new lifestyle size lots.

Council ‘bitterly disappointed’ over Heyfield decision
