| The Wellington Shire is committed to providing information that may assist the general community to both prepare for and respond in the time of emergency.
Our community has recently been faced with emergencies such as fire, flood, mudslide and motor vehicle accidents. We are also confronted with further potential for emergencies such as aircraft and rail accidents.
The potential for these hazards will always exist within our community and in an effort to be better prepared the Wellington Shire Council chairs and manages the Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee whose duty it is to prepare plans for action and coordinate these action plans in times of emergencies.
The Council works in conjunction with all the emergency service organisations, state government departments, water industry, health industry and other associated bodies within this committee.
