| Welcome to Wellington Shire Council's website!
The site is optimised for home use and graphics have been kept to a minimum to aid speed. The website is best viewed at 800 x 600 with Internet Explorer 5.
All content contained in the site has been created by staff from the Wellington Shire Council.
The following details some of the great features about the site:-
| Directories | | The website includes a link to Council Directories. A comprehensive Community, Leisure and Arts Directory is on-line which represents over 1000 listings of groups and organisations throughout the Shire. Groups also have the ability to add / update their content "on-line" which will assist in keeping our databases up to date. At the moment many listings aren't complete - if you are involved in an organisation, please help us by ensuring your details have been updated / added. | |
| Site Navigation | | The design of the site is simple and easy to move around in. Major services have been placed on the homepage so that you can easily access the information that you require.
Site index and search have also been included for those people who like to navigate a site in this way. The search facility allows for a simple search of all text within the site, or if you would like a more detailed search of the website, simply tick for a "detailed search". The site index has every page listed for users who might like to use this method of navigation.
| Printer Friendly | | A printer friendly button is available on each page of the website, use this when you need to print a page as the graphics and website template are removed. | |
| Employment and Tenders | | All tenders will be available on-line. To download the documents (in PDF format) just click on the download link next to the tender. Of Course, Tenderers can still request tenders in the traditional way.
Employment positions will also be available on-line. Click on the title of the position after you have opened it to view the description. Click on the download link to download the position description.
| Accessibility - W3CA Compliant | | Wellington Shire Council has a responsibility to cater for all sections of our community, and to minimise the effects of the ‘digital divide’ by ensuring that all residents have equal access to online information and services.
This simply means ensuring that online information is available to all people, regardless of disability, low bandwidth, reduced mobility or senior age.
Council is also obliged by the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 to ensure that online information and services are accessible by people with disabilities.
The site has been designed for W3C compliance. Further information regarding W3C can be found at the W3C Consortium website.
| Powered By | | The website is powered by AusSoft Solution's WebComm system. It is a content management system based on a distributed authoring set-up. This simply means that staff across the organisation can author, approve and publish pages without technical HTML experience, helping to ensure that the site is kept up to date. | |
| PDF Downloads | | The website uses a lot of Adobe PDF files as they are a portable and common format which reduces the file size for quick downloading. We have used Adobe Acrobat Version 5 for our PDF's and you can download Adobe Reader by clicking on the link below. | |
| Feedback | | We'd appreciate any feedback you may have about the website. A feedback form is available by clicking on the link on the left navigation bar. | |
| Browsers | | "Flyouts" used in our navigation are supported by Netscape version 6 or later. Download the latest version of your preferred browser by clicking on the buttons below. | |
