The Victorian Government has formal arrangements for the broadcast of emergency warnings and information to the community.
| | | |
| During emergencies, the stations listed on the Emergency Broadcasting in Victoria Flyer and SKY NEWS Television (and website) will broadcast information about the situation, which will help you make decisions based on the advice of the emergency services.
If necessary, emergency warnings will interrupt normal programming on the radio or television station. The list of radio stations below may be a useful guide to understanding where and how you can hear information about an emergency that may affect you and your community. It is important to understand this list is a guide only - radio reception varies and may also depend on local weather and geographical conditions. If you hear emergency information or a warning and do not understand, ask a family member, friend or neighbour for assistance. | |
| In times of emergency, the Wellington Shire Council and its Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee issue warnings and updates via the local radio stations. In the lead up to and during time of emergency, please tune your radio to ABC Gippsland AM 828 / FM 100.7 or 95.5 & 99.9 TR FM or Gold 1242 for regular updates. | |
