| Wellington Shire Library provides and organises a diverse range of resources and services to meet the personal information, recreational and lifelong learning needs of all sections of the community. This includes the development of our Local History Collection for those researching our local community. The library also provides resources and materials to specialist or disadvantaged groups in our community such as the elderly, literacy students, print handicapped or those who are learning to read.

Inter-Library Loans

LibraryLink is a means of linking all the resource catalogues of public libraries in Victoria so that a member of any library can check the holdings of other libraries and reserve titles online. Library Link saves users from going through individual databases or driving from one library to another in search of their chosen items. Library Link is funded by the State Government through the Department of Planning and Community Development. There is a small fee for this inter-library-loan service.
Family History - Only available in Library Branch

Ancestry Library Edition, brings the world’s most popular consumer online genealogy resource to your branch library. It’s an extensive online collection of individuals from North America, the UK, Europe, Australia, with sources like censuses, vital records, immigration records, family histories, military records, court and legal documents, directories, photos, maps, and more. NB: Due to licensing restrictions by the database vendor the Wellington Shire Library subscription only allows access from a branch library computer, and not offsite from home, school or office.
Who else writes like...?

Who Else Writes Like is designed to help fiction readers who have read all the books by their favourite authors and are looking for new names to try. This database should help to answer the perennial question "I've read all the books by my favourite authors, who shall I read next?" Who Else Writes Like...? will help anyone who enjoys reading fiction to expand the number of writers they read. Enter your favourite author or character into the search to find a selection of similar authors or titles.
Who next...?

Who Next...? A guide to children’s authors is an interactive tool to help parents, teachers and librarians in schools and public libraries to guide children who have already enjoyed stories by one writer to find other authors they will enjoy reading. Older children can also use the guide themselves.
