| The Wellington Shire Council encourages everyone in the community to be involved in some form of leisure activity that they enjoy. The shire is home to a variety of sporting clubs, recreation facilities, reserves and leisure venues which provide opportunities to be involved in many sporting and leisure activities.
There are more than 400 parks and reserves, some 570 different sporting and recreation clubs, eight indoor leisure venues and over 50 playgrounds, community centres and neighbourhood houses that provide opportunities to engage in active leisure time.
