| Stray animals collected by Council Officers are taken to the Wellington Shire Council Pound. The Pound is operated on behalf of the Council by Animal Aid Victoria.
If you have lost an animal, please contact 5144 5940. A fee applies for the retrieval of animals from the pound.
Impounded dogs and cats can be released from the pound during the operating hours as listed below:

| Before a dog or cat can be released from the pound:
1. An animal release fee is payable.
2. The animal must be microchipped.
3. The animal must be registered.
If the animal needs to be microchipped there may be a delay in the release of the animal until a vet is available to insert a microchip. Please contact the Pound on 5144 5940 before arranging to collect your dog or cat.

| Animal Adoptions Register | | These animals have been temperament tested to ascertain if they are suitable for adoption. All dogs and cats will be vaccinated, de-sexed, microchipped and registered prior to adoption.
