Council Community Meetings

Council Community Meetings

Councillors regularly visit groups in our communities to hear varied points of view. They attend focus group meetings for service clubs, community groups, children and youth, farmer’s co-operatives, clubs, arts groups, committees and others across the shire.

The purpose of the meetings is to highlight the positive things that group members have been doing in their communities and suggest ways their work could be supported. Here are some examples of the meetings attended and issues raised.

Discussion Points
Community Planning Forum
Support needed for sustainable membership.
Stratford and Briagolong Arts Group
Booming arts community in local area, help needed for emerging artists and art businesses.
Maffra LandCare
Some Council work can affect LandCare projects - need to work together more.
