Smoking and Tobacco Regulations

The Environmental Health Office oversees the requirements of the Tobacco Act 1987 for licenced venues and gaming establishments, premises providing dining, tobacco retailers, underage music events and workplaces. Environmental Health Officers conduct routine inspections ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation. You can obtain resources such as 'No Smoking' stickers or a Tobacco Retailers Guide Booklet from us.

Smoke-Free Beaches
Smoking is banned at all of Victoria’s patrolled beaches in the area between the red-and-yellow lifesaving flags, and within a 50 metre radius of the red and yellow flags. If you are found smoking within these designated areas it may result in an infringement penalty of 5 penalty units (Tobacco Act) being issued.

Further information on the Tobacco Act can be located at www.health.vic.gov.au/tobaccoreforms.
