Immunisation

We provide all people working and residing within Wellington with a funded immunisation program in line with the National Immunisation Program Schedule.

This program consists of monthly community immunisation sessions in Sale, Maffra, Heyfield and Yarram along with a secondary school based immunisation program. Community sessions are open to everyone and no appointment is necessary.

Contact the Environmental Health Unit on 1300 366 244 between 8.30am and 5.00pm weekdays for further details on immunisation or visit the Department of Health and Human Services website.

Note: Annual flu injections for members of the public not in the funded category can be purchased at immunisation sessions.

Immunisation Histories / School Entry Immunisation Certificates

All children enrolling in Victorian primary schools either first time or when changing schools, must demonstrate their immunisation status to the school. Once your child has been fully immunised including the four-year-old Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Measles, Mumps and Rubella immunisations, an immunisation history statement is automatically sent to your Medicare registered address from the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR).

If you have not received your child’s immunisation history statement you should phone the ACIR on 1800 653 809, see the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register or visit your local Medicare office.

If your child does not appear on the ACIR or has not been fully immunised due to a medical or conscientious objection, a School Entry Immunisation Certificate of any vaccinations given by our service can be requested.  Phone our Immunisation Department  on 1300 366 244 and provide your child’s name, date of birth, schools attended and other names you may have been known by, along with your contact details.

Note: Only immunisation administered after 1 January 1996 and up until the age of seven years are registered with the ACIR.
