Child Care Services
Our shire offers a range of different child care services including long day care, family day care, after school/school holiday care and occasional childcare. Care for Kids is a register of licensed children's services in the Gippsland region. Uniting Care Gippsland provides extensive information about children’s programs and services. It includes State and Federal government funded initiatives offering carers and educators a variety of information. Play groups provide an excellent way to meet people and are a great start for your child’s social interactions. Playgroup Victoria provides a search by area function to find a local facility.

Primary and Secondary Schools
Our shire has 5 secondary colleges and more than 30 primary schools. Approximately 70 per cent of Wellington Shire primary and secondary students attend government schools, which also draw students from locations well beyond the shire’s boundaries.
