Wurruk Growth Area Planning Scheme Amendment

Wellington Shire Council is seeking public feedback on Planning Scheme Amendment C84 for the Wurruk Growth Area.

In May 2016, Council received a private request to rezone land within the Wurruk Growth Area. The Wurruk Growth Area is identified for future residential expansion within the adopted Sale, Wurruk and Longford Structure Plan. The Structure Plan promotes the creation of well designed, complete neighbourhoods that are fully integrated with the existing adjoining residential areas and local facilities in Wurruk.

Council made an application in October 2016 to the Minister for Planning for Authorisation to formally proceed with Planning Scheme Amendment C84. This has now been granted.


The land identified is located south of the Princes Highway between Sovereign Drive Estate and The Ridge. The Kilmany Park Estate is also included within the Amendment.


As the Amendment is a private request, the proponent has organised a community drop-in session to provide further information for interested members of the community. The session is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 30 November 2016 between 7:30pm and 9:00pm at the West Sale Bowls Club in Frith Street, Wurruk.
