Council continues to provide 20% farm rate discount and $1M drought recovery

Wellington Shire Council has allocated $1 million in its 2019/20 Budget for drought recovery and will continue its 20% discount on farming rates; the freeze on fees at the Gippsland Regional Livestock Exchange and providing free roadside grazing permits.

Balanced budget in difficult economic times

Wellington Shire Council has today released its Draft Budget 2019/20 to the community, with a fine balance struck between maintaining high standard service provision, continuation of infrastructure improvements and also acknowledging economic hardship in our region. The Draft 2019/20 Budget is now available for public feedback.

Council works to eradicate prickly pear

Wellington Shire Council recently completed annual works to help eradicate prickly pear. Two species of prickly pear are present at a small number of sites throughout the shire including roadsides and Council reserves.
