Woodside-based artist Justin Holt presents his latest exhibition, Scenes from Here.
Justin was born in Melbourne in 1971 and raised in Perth. As a young adult, he studied building design and moved back to Melbourne for several years before travelling overseas.
Returning to Perth in March 1996 after living in Europe, Justin began oil painting under the instruction of prominent Western Australian artist Tony McAlinden. Trained in impressionist landscape painting, Justin’s art has developed to combine his passion of architecture and eye for perspective. His work is precise, considered, distinctive, thoughtful, and often combined with a sense of humour and irony.
In order to become a full-time artist Justin ceased his successful building design practice five years ago, and moved to Woodside with his wife.
Justin was shortlisted for the 2016 John Leslie Art Prize at the Gippsland Art Gallery and has works in private collections around Australia and overseas. He has proudly sold through Kozminsky’s Gallery and has displayed in several joint and solo exhibitions.
Entry to the exhibition is free.
Friday 7 April 6.00pm. All welcome.
