Gallery Education - Strategic Partnership Program

Education

The Gippsland Art Gallery provides an Education Program for students and teachers with assistance through the Strategic Partnership Program.

As part of the Education program schools can:

  • View and learn about artworks in the Gallery
  • Talk about artworks with gallery education staff
  • Participate in discussion, art activities, workshops and outreach sessions

We develop sessions with connections to the following curriculums:

  • Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF)
  • The Victorian Curriculum
  • Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE)
  • Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL)
  • e5 Instructional Model and Principles of Learning and Teaching (PoLT)

 

Membership

Benefits of school membership are bus trips to visit the Gallery and outreach sessions at your school. Members can be part of student exhibitions and special programs during the year.

ArtieBus

Members can visit the Gallery using the Artiebus. The Gallery will hire the bus from a local bus company for you

Outreach Program

Our Education Coordinator can visit your school and work with students.

Outreach sessions include:

  • Artwork analysis
  • Gallery collection
  • Current exhibition program
  • Individual curriculum needs

Professional Development

The Gallery offers professional development to teachers including exhibition previews, curriculum and skill development workshops.

Gippsland Art Gallery is an approved professional development provider.
